Wow! Exceptional example of how different techniques can show charecters in a differnt light, I could easily see this on a wall somewhere sat next to an Old Masters painting .
Love it , once upon a time I had the pen & inked version of this , have to say the subtle use of colour really makes the page pop !

Great, classic pages from the 'Christmas' annual of the time. Have to say that this was one of the strips that scared the hell out of me at the time and looking at it again now I can see why !

Very interesting to see this page. For me this shows much more Liefeld than the actual mini series did. I still think that DCs Liefeld/Kesel team up on this great mini series was a perfect match.
it's taken over 15 years but finally I've seen another page from this annual - this short 4 pgae story in fact ! Great page, love the boldness here to have the Surfer all in shadow.
