Yes it is as bright as the scan shows. Most of his covers have digital retouches done to them, as that third additional photo shows. And yes I was just as amazed he had this posted for sale on his website, just bought it a couple months ago. Feel very likely to find and score this one.

Yeah sorry should have clarified. Laird doesn’t do a ton of shows outside of a couple in the northeast, so I’ve been able to get my commissions through his colorist Steve Lavigne, who also colored this, through his Facebook account, Shellback Artworks. Just follow them and periodically he’ll post commission opportunities.

I just requested Superman preferable with his classic costume. He asked if he could do the golden age version which I said ok and this was what he came up with. Totally stunned.

I’m referencing the arm gauntlets that were introduced during the new52 and carried into the rebirth redesigns by Jim Lee. They were only costume aspect kept when Bendis joined the book reverting to the classic suit. Thanks

Nope these are Joe's inks directly over John's original pencils on 9x12. For the actual copy that was used for production of the lithograph joe made an enlarged 11x17 blue line copy of John's art and inked that as well. I unfortunately don't have that piece.
