When I was ten years old, I laid my hands on a convenience store copy of New Teen Titans #2 with Robin and Deathstroke by George Perez, and from then on, comics and the awareness of comics as an art form became an integral part of my life...It was the first time my mind opened beyond the story and the color of the pages and I asked myself..."Who drew this????" My mind had just blown.
I have been an avid collector since then, mostly DC....I venture to Marvel here and there for the X-men and the Avengers now for the Young Avengers and Runaways....but I am a DC boy at heart...and always will be.
I am a Legion Fan-atic and like most Legion fans have a high tolerance for reboots....i just go with the flow and see where it takes me....I just enjoy the Ride...Looking forward to the Team's 50th Anniversary this year!!!
My career decision was affected by my love for comics and their stories...caring for the sick...I consider it an honor and a privilege to do what I do....To save a life and have a child go home healthy...gives you something that is difficult to express in words...to lose a life...humbles me and helps me realize what is truly important in the world and the weight of the responsibility I carry with me day-to-day....
I haven't been collecting long...just this past year...but so far it has been a fun ride. The Best Moment so far?
Sitting down with George Perez at lunch asking him the questions I wanted him to ask when I was ten years old...and seeing the master at work on my own drawing....AWESOME.
