Hmm, where to start. John Bamber would probably have me tell you why I am nicknamed 'freak accident boy', but I think I'll just stick to the basics. I'm 45, live in London, have a masters in mechanical engineering and a PhD in biomedical engineering, and until 10 years ago was working in the engineering field as a computational fluid dynamicist. All that changed however when I got made redundant and I had a year off re-training myself. I now work in film visual effects as a technical director, mainly dealing with CG fluid simulation (fire, smoke, water, explosions etc). I've worked on the Da Vinci Code, 10,000BC (the water for the sabretooth), Harry Potter,Spectre etc etc. I got into the art collecting hobby about 15 years ago, but don't tend to buy art very regularly as mortgage payments are usually killing me. However, I am a sucker for Bolland, Art Adams, Layton Ironman (my first American comic) and Marvelman/Miracleman. If you are ever in London, I'm always up for a drink in a seedy pub in Soho...I think I acquired that from Garth Ennis, John McCrea, Liam Sharp, Glenn Fabry and of course Bisley...they are bad influences
