Description

Fantastic cover for Doctor Who Magazine's definitive edition of Dalek strip reprints. 'The Daleks' comic ran in TV Century 21 for most of the 1960s, and, as written by David Whitaker, was responsible for cementing the mythos of Skaro's finest in popular culture. I first read the Dalek strips in the 1970 Terry Nation Dalek annuals, but the DWM 2020 reprint was a revelation, with the majority of pages scanned from original art.

I may never own original Dalek pages by Richard Jennings, Eric Eden or Ron Turner, but this electrifying cover by Doctor Who comics hero Mike Collins is the next best thing. This was purchased directly from Mike at Lawless 2023 in Bristol. He's a great chap, with a wealth of fantastic stories, and I was delighted to add this banger to my collection.
