Description

Mark Schultz did this beautiful bust of Caroline Munro from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad for 2003 WonderFest in Louisville as a tribute to the actress who was a guest at the show that year along with Ray Harryhausen who provided the stop motion effects for all of the creatures featured in the film.

The illustration was also used as the official t-shirt sold at the show that year and made into a limited edition resin plaque sculpted by the late Mike Parks. I own one of castings for the plaque and was excited when I saw the original illustration it was based off of pop up for auction. I had to think twice about pulling the trigger on my final bid, but everything panned out and I was able to grab it.

I ended up bringing it with me to HeroesCon this year to show Mark at his table who was delighted to see his illustration again after so many years and was gracious enough to have his picture taken with it. I’m certainly looking forward to having it framed for display.
