Description

Gilbert Hern�ndez brings his Silver Age goodness to DC! "No Chains Can Hold Her!" was originally published as a "DC Digital First," with each physical art page representing two digital pages. The story later appeared in a full-page format print edition. In this two-part story, Beto gives us a very muscular Wonder Woman (as she should be!) in contrast to the dainty Supergirl and Mary Marvel. The story was published around the same time I finally got around to reading Love & Rockets giving me a better appreciation of Gilbert's minimalist style. Unfortunately for me, Beto sent these pages off to auction before I was aware of them. After losing out on two auctions in the secondary market, I was finally able to find an example at May 2021's Comic Art Live thanks to Roland Lim. And what better page than the one that exemplifies the story title?
