Description

One of the last black an white Mickey shorts, was directed by David Hand and released on 1/19/35. Pictured is Mickey and his sidekick Friday in the Fort Robinson Caruso observation deck. Called "Fort Mickey Mouse" in the Whitman Publishing Company soft cover MICKEY MOUSE CRUSOE (1936). - Mickey is shipwrecked and lands on island. Rescues native from cannibals who becomes "Friday". Attacked by cannibals and escapes in his fabricated boat. (Based on "ROBINSON CRUSOE" story). Done in graphite, with a large 7" x 6" image, and framed with glass for an overall size of 19.5" x 17.5".From the Forbes Collection to the Dennis Books collection.
