Description

I've owned the strip from November 8, 1977 since 2006 and I couldn't resist this one when it showed up in one of the Heritage weekly auctions. It's amazing that Al Williamson was able to do this caliber of work day after day.

Thanks to a helpful comment from CAF member oa_cafe _, I was able to find a post from J David Spurlock from September 2023 on Facebook regarding this strip. Per David: "Al Williamson & Jeffrey Jones were good friends. In this 1977 strip of Williamson's, he models for both Corrigan and the antique dealer. But Al also draws the Caveman Sculpture Jeff Jones created and gifted him." It looks like Jeff Jones released a limited edition of 100 of these Caveman statues in 1973 and they seem to be fairly collectible today.

The statue also appears in the November 8 strip -- I'll have to scan and post that in the near future.
