Description

Originally given the designation Z-Z-1-2-3, we've all come to know this unofficial 5th member of the Fantastic Four as H.E.R.B.I.E. (an acronym for "Highly Engineered Robot Built for Interdimensional Exploration" and "Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-Type, Integrated Electronics") as designed by Jack Kirby for the FF cartoon series.

H.E.R.B.I.E. was used instead of the Human Torch due to licensing issues (the Torch was already under license with a different studio), and was later introduced into the comic books in FF 209 by Marv Wolfman John Byrne.

We'll all get the chance to see H.E.R.B.I.E. again in this summer's Fantastic Four movie from Marvel Studios.
