Description

For my 100th Maxima post, I wanted it to be something special.

I have been pestering Bill, Kevin and I suppose Bryan through Bill ever since #1 came out back in 2023 about Superman - The Last Days of Lex Luthor original pages.

This mosaic of imagery features Superman and Lex traversing through the galaxy in a span of 24 hours, searching for a cure to Lex's terminal illness.

The Guardians of the Universe from the planet Oa. The Spectre the literal embodiment of the wrath of God. Mister Mxyzptlk from the 5th Dimension. Vartox champion of the planet Valeron (the Vegeta to Superman's Goku!). A Monitor from the DC Multiverse. A Dominator (one of the architects behind Invasion!). The New Gods of New Genesis (Highfather, Lightray & Metron) and Apokolips (Darkseid and DeSaad). The Cleric (or one of the alien missionaries that is of his species). The warring worlds of Rann (Adam Strange, Alanna her scientist father, Sardath) and Thanagar (Hawkmen). Finally, probably still suffering the effects of Zero Hour (this accounts for every time her costume was colored incorrectly by a colorist, which is still happening to this day), Maxima, Queen of the planet Almerac!

I don't know, I haven't asked Bryan or had anyone ask Bryan, but I'd like to think maybe my art inquiries kept Maxima at the forefront, so when it came time to put together this cosmic cavalcade, she was included as part of the mix.

Thanks to Bill and Kevin for suffering my inquiries. And thanks to Bryan for letting me be the caretaker to this wonderful work.
