David Lloyd

British Comic Artist David Lloyd has been working in the comics business since the late '70s, where he got his start illustrating stories in the UK magazine Halls of Horror as well as working for Marvel UK. In 1982 the British comics anthology Warrior, started by influencial editor Dez Skinn, introduced fans to the distopian story of V for Vendetta. The Alan Moore and David Lloyd story centers around one man's quest for revenge and his desire to right the wrongs in his society, and continues to resonate with comic fans and anarchists to this day. Lloyd's brilliant use of chiaroscuro throughout the series added a depth and texture to Moore's script that accentuated every panel of V, making the Guy Fawkes inspired masked character all the more compelling. David Lloyd continues the British anthology tradition with his own online comic compendium Aces Weekly, which brings serials and short stories from creators such as Phil Hester, John McCrea, Marc Hempel, Kev Hopgood, Val Mayerick, and many others into the cloud for fans to enjoy. |
