I purchased three commissions from Brendon and Brian Fraim, and I am SO satisfied with all three. Two of the commissions were specific ideas I had in mind -- ideas that the Fraims significantly improved upon. The third commission was a more general request for two characters in a tone (humor) but without any concrete details from me -- they took that direction, ran with it, and delivered far above expectations. All three commissions look great with an extreme attention to detail, great facial expressions, interesting backgrounds, and colors that really pop. From my commissions plus others I've seen here on CAF, the Fraims have a style that works in a ton of details without making the piece too busy -- everything is very clean and vivid. Plus, they completed the jobs in record time. I definitely plan on reaching out to them again for future commissions. Now, I just need more wall space! :D

I asked the Fraim Brothers for a cover recreation. They responded quickly, answered all my questions, and in an amazingly short time produced pencils then a finished product. The only way it could have been better would have been to get the original artist to do it. It was beyond my expectations. I'm already mulling over what I want them to do for me next.

Commission came out exactly as I had imagined. The brothers were fantastic to deal with, and provided regular updates. I would recommend their talents to anyone looking to hang a nice piece of artwork on their wall.

I signed up primarily to write a review. I needed some comic sketches to illustrate some interviews I'd conducted for a book, and later I needed a cover for a fiction book I wrote. There are a lot of artists available for hire, and selecting one (or a pair) can be difficult. I am extremely thankful that I chose the Fraim Brothers. The quality of their work is excellent, their prices extremely competitive, and their communications very fast. I've hired them for several plain monochrome comics and a full colour illustration, and in all cases the work was carried out extremely quickly, with corrections made as needed. What I especially want to commend is the Brothers' ability to take some vague descriptions written by myself, and perhaps a crude sketch I've done, which kind of sort resembles what I think I want - and then produce something which exceeds all my expectations. I think that's the sign of true artistry, that they are able to get right to the heart of what the client wants. It's subtle things, like framing and balancing a complex image in a way I hadn't considered or, when requesting an action scene, they ingeniously altered the angle of a bullet chain so that character details weren't obscured. I've only commissioned a single colour illustration, but I like the vibrancy of their colouring. Bright and alive. They're at the top of my list of preferred artists.

Ever notice that you never see any women in the Imperial Forces and the onlywoman that has a major role in the Rebel Alliance is Princess Leia. Using that as an idea for a commission by Brendon and Brian Fraim I got them to drawa piece of art showing a wanted poster of Princess Leia and some Stormtroopers response to seeing a woman. They did any outstanding job and I love hoclean and crisp their art is. They were very professional in doing the commission. I received several updates and the work was done quickly. If you are looking for artists that draw clean art like a comic book contact them.

When I think of the Fraims the first thing that comes to mind is the speed they deliver for a quality commission. I don't think I have ever had to wait more than two weeks from first contact to a completed commission. The guys do a great job with anything,from single figure, to cover recreation(or in my case cover creation). Always a pleasure to work with and affordable pricing. What more can one ask for?

Brendon and Brian Fraim have created over 160 drawings  for me – commissions of superheroes in black and white, in color, on 9 x 12, 11 x 14, and 11 x 17 paper, and on sketch cards.  They’ve drawn scenes that I’ve dreamed up, and they’ve recreated classic covers for me.  They’ve approached every assignment as truly talented professionals, and their many contributions to my comic art collection have given me many, many hours of viewing pleasure.

The process of the commission is half the fun.  After I communicate to them what I want, and send them references if necessary, Brendon brilliantly composes the scene in pencil and they send me a scan of the pencil piece.  Once I give the okay to go ahead and complete the piece, Brian applies his magnificent inking skills.

Their newest pieces for me are a stunning color aerial battle between the Justice League androids Tomorrow Woman and Red Tornado against the multi-powered android Amazo, and a series of amazingly detailed, lushly colored interlocking cards featuring the Captain Marvel Shazam family as they appeared circa 1950. Finally, they’re great to deal with, and the art is always very carefully wrapped and protected.

The Fraims are professional, prompt, and great to deal with in all regards. They actually turned down work when they felt they wouldn't be able to provide it to a certain level (a logo design request) - which elevates them higher to me, as they didn't take the money and do something not up to their standards.
