DescriptionCheck out this very nice Published 1971 SYFY cover, which was penciled and inked by the great Jim Aparo! This very detailed cover features 2 astronauts planting a flag on a new planet which states: "WE THE FIRST HAVE COME IN PEACE!" We then see the astronauts looking to their right as they gasp and see a large totem pole and a genie looking bottle in the ground. Just a super detailed sci-fi cover signed in the art by Jim Aparo with a nice long letter from Jim Aparo to the publisher of the cover, explaining how he drew the cover. Art is drawn on 11" x 14" art board and letter can be seen in extra red link above. It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
