Frank McLaughlin Art

Frank McLaughlin(b.1935)is the classic Silver Age Comic Artist. His career creating comics began at Charlton Press in Derby, CT.and his work spread across the pages of Marvel, DC's, Archie, Valiant, IDW, Broadway, and many more publishers for decades. Frank is also known for his work as a cartoonist starting with Stan Drake's romance strip "The Heart of Juliet Jones" and continuing with 20 years of the Jack Berrill Sports Strip "Gil Thorpe"(tribune Media Services) Frank Has worked with established professional creatives like Steve Ditko(Spiderman), Dick Giordano(Batman), Gil Kane(The Atom), Joe Gill(Captain America,Writer) Pat Boyette(Eerie), Dick Dillin(JLA, Garder Fox(Creator Hawkman/Flash /Sandman) among many other. Frank created, Judomaster for Charlton one of the early martial arts characters in comics. Later Frank would on to illustrate "Iron Fist"(Marvel)and many issues of "Deadly Hands of Kung Fu"(Marvel). Franks experience and expertise as a practitioner of Judo lead editors to commission Frank to create "how-to" illustrations for "Deadly Hands." In the Charlton years and beyond Frank worked with talent like, Jim Aparo, Denny O'Neil, Mike Zeck, Joe Staton, John Byrne, Roger Stern and more. The early work of Neal Adams's Studio was published by Charlton. After Charlton Shut down Frank and Dick Giordano stared working more with Dc and Marvel. For Marvel Frank inked Sal Buscema's Pencils on Captain America and The Defenders. He also inked on "Iron Fist", "Deadly Hands of Kung Fu"and many more. For DC Frank was the regular inker on "Justice League America" with penciller Dick Dillin, with Joe Staton's "Green Lantern", With Ernie Chan on "Batman", over Carmine Infantino's "Flash", Gene Colons pencils on "Wonder Woman" and with Dan Jergen's "Green Arrow. His Dc credits continue into the 90's with inking in Catwoman and in "Batman:Knightfall" as well. Frank became Professor at Paier College of Art in In the 2000's Frank worked with Broadway Comics on the title "Femme Fatale" and "White Viper" with IDW. Frank is available for fan commissions.
