Description

Beautiful Splash page from Monsters Unleashed #5. This is one (of only two) ink wash splashes done of the Man-Thing. The first is (of course) the breath-taking splash from Savage Tales #1 (and reprinted in Monsters Unleashed #3) by Gray Morrow. This splash, done by Vicente Alcazar, is very similiar in layouts to the Morrow splash. In monster magazines, there seemed to be much competition and idea stealing. Warren's answer to the Man Thing was Marvin the Dead Thing in Eerie magazine. Marvin didn't last long, though.
