(Perhaps not the actual first time in story-continuity - pesky Weapon X memory implants and all - but it was the first time we got to see them throw down on each other, and has it been matched since for sheer impact and grittiness?)


And true, there's no Wolverine or Sabertooth in this splash (unless you count Logan's monologuing), but I'm thrilled to have a page from this game-changing issue. The opening bar-room brawl is a great warm-up for the event that follows, and the tag-team work of Buscemi and Sienkiewicz is always pure wow to see.
