Description

To put it simply, Dave Simons is the reason I'm an art dealer.

Okay, so the story is a bit longer, but it's true. So, when this came up for auction, to benefit the Inkwell Awards Dave Simons Scholarship fund that is awarded to a student at the Joe Kubert school, I had to get this great piece by a master who has passed on.

Among my fondest memories as a collector is the lively correspondence I exchanged with Dave Simons over a Common Elements commission he was working on for me. My saddest without doubt is knowing that Dave never got to finish that piece. Always nice to see reminders of his tremendous talents.
