DescriptionI have ideas. This is one of them. The Blackest Night has hit the small podunk white trash town of South Park, CO. The dead have risen, and heroes such as Mysterion and Mintberry Crunch are unable to stop the hordes. Now, some of the town's most . . . unique residents have found themselves with power rings of the emotional spectrum. Can they defeat the Black Lanterns of South Park? I had to talk myself into Chef. For those who aren't fans, I'll try and be brief. Chef was one of the show's original characters, a cafeteria worker that enjoyed making love to beautiful women as well as serving food to the children at South Park Elementary. He was voiced by the legendary Isaac Hayes. Who was a Scientologist. Hayes left in a huff after creators Matt Stone & Trey Parker skewered Scientology in "Trapped In The Closet," which I consider perhaps the most overrated episode in the show's history. A short time later, Chef was brought back in -- naturally -- "The Return of Chef" Without Hayes, old audio clips were recycled, as Chef joined the Super Adventure Club, a group dedicated to finding exotic lands and engaging in pedophilia. Of course, the episode was another slam on Scientology . . . and the character was killed off in a humiliating manner. Okay, the Super Adventure Club did stuff what was left of him into a Darth Vader rig, but I don't consider that canon. Anyway . . . a short time after that episode, Isaac Hayes passed away. I debated whether Chef should be the Black Lantern, a body animated by a dark ring. The only other character on the show that was synonymous with death was Kenny McCormick, and I had other ideas for him, re: emotional spectrum. After Chef and Kenny, who else is there? Ms. Crabtree? Ms. Choksondik? Pip? As much as I questioned Chef in the role as much as I did Big Gay Al as a Star Sapphire, I concluded it was the logical choice.
