While I'm not a big X-Men fan, I picked this up for a song on eBay, and I've grown to be a fan of Salvador Larroca's art thanks to the strength of his work on Invincible Iron Man with writer Matt Fraction.

This page is from writer Chuck Austen's oft-criticized run on X-Men in the mid-2000s. It's easy to see why I was able to acquire this page at a low price. It features only a couple of villains -- Avalanche and Mammomax of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants -- and Mammomax ain't exactly one of the more iconic mutant menaces of the Marvel Universe. But Larroca's meticulous efforts to convincingly portray the mammoth-like mutant's impossible physiology is impressive, I think, and there's some strong action work in the sequence. Still, pages such as this one really make me wish lettering was still done right on the boards rather than digitally. I'd love the context of this conflict to be apparent right on the page.

While the seller I acquired this from noted it was inked by Allen Martinez (and I bought another Martinez-inked page from him), the Grand Comics Database lists Danny Miki as the inker. Both are part of Crime Lab Studios, so the sticker in the upper right corner isn't all that helpful in arriving at an answer.
