Punisher Annual 1 page 15 by Jason Pearson

A very nice action page from the amazing Punisher Annual 1 by Rick Remender & Jason Pearson at the top of his artistic form.

The storytelling as always is super fluid and incredible. I love lots of things here, ranging from pure technique such as the cross hatching of the body parts of the punisher that are covered by glass débris in the first panel. The obvious interaction between Spidey and the WWF girl in the second panel (it's evident they're speaking even without words, also notice how she doesn't stop moving from panel 1 to 2, picking a car to throw at him in panel 3?). The pure Spidey moment in panel 3 as he leaps to avoid being crushed by the car and finally the excellent web shot in panel 4. Again, the storytelling in 4 is splendid as Spidey is not fully drawn in it to underline speed and movement and his pose is ultra dynamic. And again, notice how his body pose in panel 4 is consistent with the way he jumped in panel 3 which suggested he would land behind the girl?

All those intelligent little storytelling bits truly make my day when I read, purchase OA and set Jason on top of the modern storytellers list. He is on top of mine for sure :)

And don't get me started on the perfect clean inking ;)
