Description

I came up with this idea based on the story of the original X-Men coming to the future and being horrified at Cyclops's actions from AvX. So, I thought about the cover to Giant X-Men 1 where the original X-Men look in shock at the next team of X-Men tearing through the page. I thought it would be cool to have a similar concept, but instead of having the original X-Men being shocked by the next team of X-Men, having them be shocked by the worst incarnations that they become in their futures. Cyclops-Phoenix Cyclops, Jean Grey-Dark Phoenix, Angel-Apocalypse Angel, Prof X-Onslaught, Beast-Dark Beast, and Iceman-Age of Apocalypse Iceman. Now I know that Dark Beast and Age of Apocalypse Iceman are different reality versions of them, but the 616 versions of Beast and Iceman didn't really have any evil incarnations of themselves. Chris Ivy did the layout for this back at Wizard Philly. At Wizard NY, JG drew Jean's head and Dark Phoenix. Carlos drew Beast's head and Dark Beast. Humberto drew Iceman's head and AoA Iceman.

Awesome idea for a jam piece! This would be phenomenal on a full 11x17 board, but I look forward to seeing who you get to draw the other three pairs of characters.

Thanks Kin. I'm hoping to finish it at Boston and Baltimore this year. It would have been cool to do it on a full 11x17, but I thought it would be appropriate on this blank cover given the story line of All New X-Men.
