Description

As many are aware, I have a Beautiful Dreamer theme sketchbook which I started in 2000. This led me to eventually get a tattoo of Beautiful Dreamer on my left leg. That artwork is by Jack Kirby & Greg Theakston, and it originally appeared in the character's bio from Who's Who #2. Last year I met Greg at a convention and showed him the tattoo, which he very much enjoyed seeing.

So, anyway, today I unexpectedly receive a package in the mail from Greg. I had no idea what was in it. I opened it up and, yipes, it was Greg's original inks on vellum that he lightboxed from Kirby's pencils all those years ago. I was caught completely off-guard by this amazing gesture on Greg's part.

To tell you the truth, my life has been pretty crazy lately, with a lot of emotional ups & downs. I have had to put up for sale some pieces of art from my collection that I like because I urgently need to pay bills. So this generous gift from Greg really made me happy.

Thanks so much, Greg. You're a good guy.
