Judge Dredd - The Last Invader commission by John Cooper

Many Dredd tales dealt with the aftermath of the Apocalypse War, and a personal fave (amongst the many!) was the two part story - The Last Invader (Progs 298-99), which told the tale of East-Meg Judge Engels, who continued the fight on alone, though the war was long over.
The original artist John Cooper, has now retired, but he was willing to revisit the story for this commission. Many thanks to John, for doing this, and special mention goes to CAF, and 2000ad forum member Mark Spencer, for doing all the running to ensure this happened, in the first place. Thanks Mark!

Occasionally 2000ad's covers would kinda imply things that didnt actually happen in the story with-in, and this image of Engels getting the drop on Dredd is in that vein (the two only meet right at the very end, and it was all over brutally quick), so i asked John to create this scenario (and its a nod to his own cover for prog 298), and im really happy with the results!

Its always a bit of a treat to see these prelim/roughs - They are a nice little behind the scenes look at the whole process. And are now posted on here in the additional images section.
