Hi, ive been reading 2000ad since prog 2, (prior to that, my pocket money was spent on the many British staples of the time starting with, the Dandy and the Beano!, then moving onto the numerous world war two titles of that mid-seventies period, such as Victor, Warlord, Battle and, Action, as well as the Marvel UK/Star Wars Weekly line of reprint comics). My all time favourite comic character is Judge Dredd. While many fine artist's have drawn Dredd over the years, my personal favourite will always be Mike McMahon. For me, he is the definitive Dredd artist. Mike's art is always evolving and always superb. A fantastic and truly unique talent. My favourite Dredd stories are The Cursed Earth (progs 61-85) and The Apocalypse War (progs 245-270). In the early 90's I got bitten by the Dark Horse bug, and that is were I first came across Paul Chadwick's Concrete, and I was immediately hooked. Intelligent stories and beautiful art. A perfectly created little universe, and long may it continue. (just wish Paul would sell some of his published art!) Other faves from my childhood onwards are, Colin Wilson (Rogue Trooper, Judge Dredd) Carmine Infantino (Star Wars) Jim Baikie (Skizz) Michael Golden (Micronauts) Carlos Ezquerra (Strontium Dog) John Byrne (Next Men) Massimo Belardinelli (Meltdown Man) Howard Chaykin (Star Wars) Mike McMahon (The Last American, anything!) Dave Gibbons (Rogue Trooper, Martha Washington) Ron Smith (Judge Dredd) Joe Colquhoun (Johnny Red, Charley's War) Chris Warner (Predator, Black Cross) Cam Kennedy (Rogue Trooper) and many more. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to expand my collection to include some of these.
