2000ad Prog 1788 Judge Dredd Day of Chaos : Chaos Day Part 2

"...save who we can".

The longest running Dredd story, (48 episodes and 289 pages, all told), that from start to finish, took nearly a full year to tell.
And Chaos Day itself, left the shellshocked reader with this closing image. What was once, is no longer.

Mega City One lies in ruins, 87% of the population (Some 350 million souls!) are dead. Decades after the Apocalypse War, the Sov's finally get their revenge.

As Dredd himself says in the immediate aftermath "The Mega-City One we knew is gone. We have to accept that and move on."



UPDATE: The main Dredd image has now been used for the Day of Chaos Mega Collection cover. I was asked if I could supply a fresh scan of the artwork, which of course I was more than happy to do. Really pleased to have been asked to help out, as the Day of Chaos is such a favourite of mine.
