From Savage Wolverine #4, Page 12 -13.

Wolverine versus the Great Temple Apes of the Forbidden Mountain.

It's my nod to the cinematic stop-motion masters, Ray Harryhausen and Willis O'Brien, who gave us King Kong, Mighty Joe Young, Jason and the Argonauts, One Million Year BC, etc.

I had a blast writing and drawing Savage Wolverine. I hope to do more in the future.

Recently picked up a Harryhausen box set of DVD's that included Jason and the Argonauts plus all the Sinbad movies. This is a great tribute indeed. The apes are cool, but the work and detail on the backgrounds are AMAZING!!!!!

When I 1st saw this, in color, my soul did a Tarzan yell. Sure would make an awesome poster, eh Monkey-King? (or would you have to sleep with some Marvel suit first?)
