DescriptionWhen I was reading those pocket-sized comic anthologies back then, these were often weirdly assembled with unconnected stories themes or stories published in the wrong order... Strangely enough, I thought this idea worked pretty well with the War books and I didn't even think the inclusion of Tomahawk in these was at odds with the general theme...In fact, I liked it so much that Frank Thorne quickly joined my Top 3 War artists with Joe Kubert and Russ Heath! He's still there for me, mind you: his unique style perfectly suits the tales... Oh, and when I had a chance to find the US versions, I obviously didn't mind the Joe Kubert or Neal Adams covers either! Social/Sharing |

This page has quite a few elements that I find attractive in a Thorne page, not the least of which is the wonderful shot of Moon Fawn in the big panel.

I agree with you, especially on Moon Fawn's frozen posture while all the movement is in the background. It's an interestîng choice of composition and it´s also the one Joe Kubert picked for the front cover of that issue. Of course, he could not replicate Moon Fawn's clothing (or absence of...), another bold Frank Thorne move for the times!
