I can't believe there's no comment on this page Andy. It's really a great one. Glad to leave the first comment since I'm responsible for like half of the views anyway. 8 )

Very effective storytelling once again, and a first panel that remind us of his Dracula days. How is it that people seem to only react to Mignola's art when Hellboy is punching something or looking gloomy ? He's also very focused on the rythm of his stories.

The Smithsonian had a comic art speaker series back in the mid-90's, and one of the things Mike discussed was how he would rather reference actual places and architecture than make them up.

Ahaaa I never listened about it. Thank you for this informations. Now I`m smarter :) I remember the story about Prague Vampire, but I didn`t know he used more Czech (and world) real places and architecture.

I don't think I'd commit homicide to obtain this page (so, you're safe from me, at least, though you might want to take precautions around "Michael07")), but, yeah, that castle sure nuff looks pretty. It reminds me, at least a little, how some manga artists, my favorite being Mizuki Shigeru, use hyper-realistic detailing to render their backgrounds while keeping the main characters and action cartoonish.

The greatest/craziest thing about this piece is that the castle really exists - check out the comments about halfway through the stream
