Wrightson - Galaxy Quest - Concept Art # 1 - Thermians

I have managed to collect several pieces from the Galaxy Quest concept series, and though the final version around the head area did not follow along with this, I do believe this was the "concept" behind the Thermians (those crazies from outer space who thought the "Galaxy Quest" series were Historical Documents)...

When I saw this come up on eBay, I knew I was going to give it an honest effort to add it into my collection. Happily, this is one of those pieces which went for less than I'd bid and makes me feel like it all averages out in the long run. A little more for some, a little less for other's.

On top of this, George (the eBay seller) turned out to be an incredibly nice guy. He had a shipping charge for a large frame this was in, and kindly agreed to ship it to me for free in a tube after some discussion. In this case, I think it saved us both money as that size of frame would have to be expensive to ship.

These may not be the classic works of Wrightson, but for me... I think these concept pieces provide another creative glimpse of what goes on inside his head...

It must be a scary place to be!!! :)
