[Obtained from the artist through an online Benefit Auction for Steve Niles held in October 2013]

A page displaying Lord Baltimore, the ex-noble, warstricken, battle-damaged, leathercoated, peg-legged, stubble-shaven, black-eyed land-suffering harpooner, being the visual embodiment of vengeance against the dark and evil accompanying World War, plague-like woe and vampires. Hunting the guttered and perishing Europe all over, for what monstrosities had made our Lord irrevokably be becoming one.

Originally presented as an illustrated novel, both as next to which as an ongoing comics series by reknowned collaborators Mike Mignola & Christopher Golden, whom discovered the New Zealand artist Ben Stenbeck to being their number-one-guy.

The work and talent of Ben Stenbeck together with multi-awarded colorist Dave Stewart has been visualizing the captivating and mysterious story matter of Mignola & Golden on a number of stories already. Between stark blacks and whites, along gaslit streets or cobblestoned roads and all that could brood or loom beyond that.

I feel publisher Dark Horse can pride itself at bringing the top of the line in storytelling-driven both as creator-driven comics, with such titles as Hellboy, BPRD, Witchfinder and Baltimore.

Titles capable of having design and imaginativeness culminate into face-whooping enjoyment.

Like steep whiskey and burly Fin-de-Siècle window signs.
