Description

This is one of my big accomplishments for 2005, at least in my eyes. Dave Cockrum is the artist that kicked the Legion of Super Heroes out of the Silver Age and got them started down the road to cool stories and even cooler costumes. One of those Legionnaires that he created was Wildfire, who went on to become a truly major character in the book in the 1980s, and he was one of my favorites. Much as I liked Dave's X-Men work, I've always had a big ol' soft spot in my heart for his Legion work, and getting a good Legion sketch from him has been a big priority of mine. In late 2005, I found this beauty on ebay! I will be getting this piece inked in the near future, and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Pencils on 11"x14" drawing paper.
