So I had the wonderful opportunity to get another commission piece from the equally wonderful Al Severin. I threw out a few ideas to Al, and figured that he could choose the idea that struck him most. One was a self-portrait with some of his characters. Another was something with his funny book animals, as I had seen some wonderful sketch pages of his bears. A third idea was an old-fashioned life drawing scene, such as might have been seen in a turn-of-the-century art academy.
To my surprise and joy, Al decided to combine all three of the ideas in one wonderful ink drawing! That's Al standing next to the bear, whose fully focused on the honey pot, rather than the model. Wonderful characters and drawing in one piece. Thanks Al!
