Description12" x 18" on illustration paper.This was my first comment on this piece back in 2014 "I really like Bernie's work but the published pieces are out of my reach. You can still see his style in the layouts." ... and I seem to recall that a page without Batman on it went for just shy of $400 back then. I used to think that spending $200 on a page was pretty pricey :) Still glad that I bagged some prelims as I missed LSCC 2012, and these are much much better than a con sketch IMHO. Sure some of the pencil work is a little loose, but it is still pretty close to the finished page. You can see that Bernie was working some things out as he went along as the middle panel has a partially erased Batman on it, he made a good choice in using Batman in the foreground instead to enhance the shot. I also love it when artists still manage to make Batman really expressive when wearing the mask. Social/Sharing |
