Description

Have to admit that I am a serious sucker for early Role Playing Game art and the artists who created it -- Erol Otus, Diesel (David LaForce), Jeff Dee, Jeff Easley, David A. Trampier and the rest of the band that made TSR and D&D what it was in the 70s and 80s. I have searched long and hard for original art from the classic 1st Edition AD&D era and earlier, but so far I have come up empty.

I was able to pick up this cool 1981 Space Opera RPG illustration from Jeff Dee at Wizard Austin a couple of years ago though. It was the only 1980s vintage piece he had with him. It was used for Starsector Atlas Volume 1 and depicts a "Space Mountain Man". I just pretend it is a Dwarf! Dated 1981 it is prime-period, right around the same time Dee was doing illos for Deities & Demigods and Fiend Folio.

If anyone has any of this sort of material -- Jeff Dee or any other 1970s or 80s D&D or AD&D art -- please feel free to drop a line. I'm interested.
