DescriptionI'm happy to add another great page from Our Pal Sal. I've been searching for a nice underwater subby image for a few years and to get a great very early bronze age title splash that also features Lady Dorma was a great moment for me. Nice inks by Jim Mooney and Mike Esposito. (Mooney primarily, I believe). From a pretty memorable issue where Subby outraged at surface dwellers encroachment on the Atlantean environment heads to New York to address the UN. It was important for me to get an example with a great image of subby as there are so many otherwise beautiful pages out there with subby with his back turned to the reader. I love this image with Namor and Dorma coming straight at the reader.I also feel this early period of Sal's work was some of his best, with his work on Avengers and these issues of Sub-Mariner a good example of prime Sal Buscema comic artistry. Originally published in 1970. Enjoy! NFS, Only would consider trades involving Bill Everett Subby artwork Social/Sharing |

I'm not gonna lie--I'm generally not a big Sal guy, except for when he inked his brother early on. But I'm 100% with you that his first few years of penciling output was excellent, and this particular example is superb. I'd be proud to own it myself. Congrats!

Superbly framed, and amazingly executed. What a thing to own! As others have said, the pairing of Sal and Jim was great, and I wished they had done more together. Great page!
