The time has come for Obadia Konishi to claim his father's legacy and become Rai! But is he too late to save Japan from the usurper Takashi Nakadai, the self-proclaimed 43rd Rai, armed with his mother's stolen X-O Commando armor?

Training under Spylocke's vicious tutelage, young Obadiah Konishi begins to develop the abilities that have lain dormant in the nanites in his blood. By communing with the Blood of Heroes, he gains the powers wielded by his predecessors, Bloodshot and Rai, as well as discovering his own Harbinger talents. At last, Obadiah is ready to accept the title of 'Rai.' But he soon learns, however, that his foster brother Takashi also claims to be Rai. Thus setting the stage for a bloody showdown -- Rai against Rai...brother against brother. This issue ties in with Magnus Robot Fighter (1991 Valiant) #42. "Rising Son" is written by Tony Bedard, with art by Kevin Kobasic and Rodney Ramos.
