Description
One of the great comic convention no-no's is "never leave your sketchbook." That's what happened to me at the last con I went to.

A few months ago through social networking I commissioned Green Lantern artist Ethan Van Sciver to draw Batman for me at London Super Comic Con, Id managed to get everything done in terms of picking up commissions to getting sketches,I thought to myself "this wouldn't be a problem."

As the convention was about to close Ethan hadn't done mine along with a few others, he was very busy doing other sketches and he offered to refund the cost of the commission to myself and others who'd didn’t get a sketch or a commission.
Having paid up front at the convention, Ethan said it he would send it off but I was in for a long wait as I discovered he was busy with other conventions and his work with D.C.

A few weeks back, I decided to contact him one last time regarding my sketchbook I offered to pay for postage, Ethan later sent me a message and he’d showed what he’d drawn on my sketchbook. The commission he’d drawn exceeded my expectations and today I finally received my sketchbook.

glad to hear you got it back and your wait wasn't long, it took me 3 yrs to get mine back from him and he didn't even finish the sketch after having it for that long even thought he kept saying it was finished.

That wasn't a long wait Neil, you should know that by now, and your sketchbook your responsibility, I'd never let an artist have a sketchbook with other sketches in it due to the massive risk in it going missing.
