Description

Stephen Platt's Marc Spector: Moon Knight (1989) #56 page 9. This is Stephen Platt's page 9 of his second issue of Marc Spector: Moon Knight. Few comic book debuts had the impact of Stephen Platt's 1993 Marc Spector: Moon Knight run, with its hyper-finished work that kicked the then popular style launched by Todd McFarlane up to another level. Platt only worked on four issues of the title-#55, #56, #57 and #60 before moving on to work for Image Comics. However, those four issues are still highly collected today as is Platt's original art.

Stephen Platt took comics by storm in the 1990s with his work on Marvel's Marc Spector: Moon Knight. He would then move on to Image, working on such titles as Prophet and his own creation, Soul Saga. He was extraordinarily talented and famously meticulous, but despite his talent he did not produce much. "Splatt" art remains rare on the open market.

Moon Knight was first introduced as a nemesis for the Werewolf in Werewolf by Night #32, now one of the most collectible comics of the Bronze Age. The appeal of the character was so great that he was soon launched into his own adventures as a hero, culminating in his own title in 1980.

The art has an approximate image area of 10" X 16". This piece is a multi-panel page featuring Moon Knight in four out of five panels.
