DescriptionI can finally add a Jackson Guice cover to my collection.This one was love at first sight when I saw it in the IDW solicitations. I really like orcas and I thought the subject, composition and rendition of that cover were fantastic. An aerial view of the ice with a panicked man obvious to the danger below him. The tension of the scene is incredible for me. The fact that all of the orca's body is pointing towards the man reinforces that even though they do not evolve in the same element. On the drawing, in bw, they seem to be on the same plane. The sheer size of the orca compared to the man also reinforces the sentiment of panic/the tension the viewer feels. The scan is quite lighter than the actual piece and the ice is more noticeable on the original. Thansk to Dave for the help and scan. A fantastic cover that tells a story, that is storytelling, far away of all the pin up shots we're so much used to. Social/Sharing |
