DescriptionI was about 10 when Byrne and DC rebooted Superman and it has always been one of the more defining comic book events of that decade in my opinion. I never really thought I would be fortunate enough to acquire one of the splash pages Byrne did from that time period, let alone one featuring Superman himself. So the fact that I now have such a nice example of the man's art on such an iconic character from such an important run is very exciting for me.Social/Sharing |

Great acquisition! I remember this era well. And just for your information, Byrne inked the Superman figure. This was a time when Kieth Williams was credited only for background inks so he probably just inked the floor. This is Byrne inking himself which is Byrne at his best!

Being a bit older, I never fully took to Byrne's Superman run (I liked some of it better than others), but looking back, he injected some much needed new energy into the stories and, as is evident on this page, did some fine work on the art chores. This is an amazing image of Supes laid low by Banshee.
