Description

A continuation of the "Cat Girl" concept by Frank Frazetta. Tom Grindberg had this idea, "My 'Cat Nap' is just funny to look at... Frank's dream all pooped out. The poor girl has had to stand there all day long without a rest since the mid 60's. Then Frank made her cuter. That painting was probably the most mesmerizing of all his paintings... To see it up close at the Alexander Gallery was probably the best lighting I ever saw it displayed in... your eye watered looking at the greens. The room was dark and the only light was on the painting -- it literally glowed in translucent greens coupled with the brilliant contrast of the girl standing and the darkness of the woods behind her."

I had bought a preliminary version of this concept and was captivated by it (see it elsewhere in this gallery room). On September 25th, 2014 Tom invited me to have him do a finished work on the same subject. Payment was half upfront and half upon completion. It was completed on November 1st and I received the artwork when I got home from a week away on November 23rd, 2014.

Ray, you know how I hate to repeat myself. I did like the original concept but wanted more movement in the image above. By the way, the European crowd in Lisbon liked it too.
