Description

Artists usually drew the strips in batches (vs drawing 1 strip a day). So note how Nick's signature (panel 3) in this art is different from the one in 3361 (panel 2) which was probably drawn a couple days (or hours) apart.

The first panel is significant because its mirror image was used in a series of Tarzan pins featuring different artists. Great pose, except it's weird to have the monkey's stuck hand.

See the additional image for the pin. The printing on the edge indicates it's number 3 in the series and the copyright is 1975.

The lettering in the last panel is missing. See another additional image for a scan from the tearsheet.

I've had the pin for a long, long time but I only acquired the art shortly before Nick passed.

The title, At Bay, is also written on the back of the art.

Tarzan was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
