Blue Book, August 1930

Laurence Herndon painted many pulp covers over a 20 year career, but he's probably best remembered for his many Blue Book covers, particularly those for the tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs. We're still looking to acquire one of his ERB pieces, but we were very pleased to pick up this painting several years ago. It's the cover for Blue Book, August 1930, illustrating "The Red Star of Islam" by Warren Hastings Miller. The issue also features an installment of ERB's, "A Fighting Man of Mars."
