This painting was used as the cover of Andre Norton's "Postmarked the Stars" paperback, which was published in January 1970 (it had a 1969 date). One of the first published examples of Jeffrey's new signature colophon "J squared," it falls right in the middle of when Jones was painting paperback covers at an incredible rate. Jeffrey posed as the model for the figure in the painting. Painted on a piece of art board that is a little over 20" x 30".

Cool and unique! I've never seen this piece before. I love how Jones blended the shadows with the starry background. Interesting pose and the sky is really alive in this
