Description

I love this page so much. Going back to my earliest memories of Batman from the campy television show to the cartoons to the comic books, Batman has consistently made use of the highest-powered computer imaginable. Clearly he could afford to be an early adopter. At the same time, he had among his cast of supporting characters a butler. A job role going back centuries. I find that wonderful. And despite the many changes to Alfred over the years, Alfred has always been as has had as much of a dual-identity as Bruce. He has disguised himself as a servant, but actually and sprung into action as a mentor, guide, father, and friend. And that brings me to this page. Sean Phillips creates a wonderful shadow-laden scene of the computer AND Alfred serving their purpose as best they can.

I have no doubt that many fans of Mr. Phillips prefer his differently-styled work on things like Fatale and Incognito, but for my money...I like a more realistic look. That final panel of Alfred and Batman are pure gold.
