Description

It was a treat to meet, at long last, Mike McKone, who added his unique touch to my Common Elements gallery way back in 2009. For our face-to-face meeting, I decided to take Mike in a completely different direction than our previous collaboration, which featured muscular heroes Captain Britain and Miracleman (or Marvelman, if you're on the other side of the Pond). Mike lent an incredible delicacy and beauty to his portrait of Isis, a character with whom he was previously unfamiliar. I love the way that he captures the essence of the character perfectly without constricting himself to the specific likeness either of the television heroine or her comic book representation. Commissioned and completed at Big Wow ComicFest 2015.
