DescriptionCover painting for BESSY # 313 by the German "Western artist" Klaus Dill.BESSY was a very popular comic-book in Germany. Even as a child I was very impressed by the realistic cover paintings, not knowing who the artist was. In the late 80s I came across the name of the artist and the publisher was so kind to give me his home address. I got in contact with him and he invited me regularly to each of his exhibitions. He was a real nice and gentle man. So sorry he passed away so early. About 8 weeks before his death we talked on the phone about two movie star portrait commissions he wanted to do for me after returning from the hospital. He didn't know then that he had a brain tumor. Social/Sharing |
