Since picking up my first piece years ago at Super Con (now Big Wow), getting a new Mannion piece at the show had become an annual tradition. But for various reasons (lack of funds, bad timing, and what not) it had been a couple of years since I�d gotten anything new from Steve. Not that I�m hurting for Mannion art, as I do have quite a bit of it. But I really do love Steve�s work and I can�t get enough of it. Plus the tradition was something I enjoyed and always looked forward to. Plus it was always fun catching up with Steve at the show.

This year in particular was really nice because I got to meet his wife and adorable little girl. And even though I technically did not have cash for the show, my buddy Joe loaned me a little pocket money which allowed me to pick up this beauty from Steve. Of course I wished I could have afforded one or two more pieces, but at least it was nice to revive the tradition again. Hopefully this will be the beginning of another long run. I really did miss coming home with new Mannion art these past couple of years.

About this piece. Not sure where this is from or even if it was ever used. I feel sort of stupid that I didn�t ask Steve about it at the show when I bought it. But I�ll find out and make any appropriate revisions to this description after I hear from him. Anyway, Steve really does amazing pencil work. I enjoy his paintings and love his pen & ink work. But I honestly feel that it�s pencils where his skill and artistry truly shines. This might be the least expensive piece I�ve picked up in the last few years, but it�s also one of the nicest.

Love Mannion's art ! And this one piece really stands out with the Kirbiesque "in your face" oversized gun ! Gorgeous !!!
