I still remember fondly the Marvel Annuals of 1965 - the striking Ditko cover for the Amazing Spider-Man Annual #2 (which featured the long-awaited cross-over between two of Ditko's most famous creations, Spider-Man and Dr Strange). But even that cover paled in comparison to the cover of this particular Annual. It featured virtually every superhero in the Marvel Universe (and the corresponding villains to boot). To a young child, this was staggering - impressive beyond words (and it still is). That the Marvel House of Ideas went this extra mile was not surprising in the least as this particular issue featured the long-awaited wedding of Reed and Sue! This particular page is the climactic battle page and, although it would have looked even more superb had Joe Sinnott inked it, it is still pretty impressive, in my view - if nothing else, for the numerous villains as well as heroes it contains. It might be pure nostalgia only, but they sure don't make comics nowadays like they used to. Of course, the fact that the penciller was "The King" himself helps a lot.
